Throughout my journey as a journalist, I have been blessed to get to explore new interests and passions within real newsrooms and alongside amazing industry professionals. If you had told me a few years ago I would be working in a news production role, I would likely not have believed it—but WCVB has been just another reminder that I am never done falling in love with the journalism industry.

In applying for news production, I was truly taking a step outside of my comfort zone. Though my strengths typically fall in print and digital roles, this internship has been a testament to my willingness to start fresh and learn constantly.

In my time at WCVB, I have learned to write in completely new ways, adapting to the broadcast writing style and drafting on-air scripts. In addition, I have shown a steady commitment to shadowing field reporters and anchors, consistently developing my own on-air personality and voice. Of course, I have also stayed true to my roots and pitched stories to the digital team, assisting with research and interview efforts.
